one of baby's first horror movies... one summer when i was 8, i stayed up all night and watched a 2 am showing of this on the syfy (sci-fi at the time) channel all on my lonesome. i still think the scene where the car explodes and the zombies get to have bbq is hilarious to this day

you can't tell me keeping the original shakespearian dialogue but using a modern setting wasn't a fun as hell choice or that this film isn't visually stunning. romeo as a smoker? guns named after the blades they originally were in the theater? hot as hell drag queen mercutio??? that iconic aquarium scene? they made john leguizamo sexy, for god's sake

silent hill

nowhere near as good as the games, but it's a solid horror film, and i give them credit for absolutely nailing the set and atmosphere. even the effects hold up to me, but then again ps2 silent hill 2 also holds up to me graphics-wise, so maybe i don't have a good eye for those things. i think it helps that the creatures were practical effects overlaid with some cgi though

not my favorite anime, but it is the adaptation of my favorite manga, and holds a very special place in my heart. the camp factor is off the charts in a good way. could it have been better? yes. is it low budget? yes. was it censored to hell in comparison to the manga it's based on? yes

but, faults aside, it's clearly a passion project where the crew provided easter eggs for fans, and depicted certain scenes from different angles to try and get around the censorhip while still still trying to convey the same horror. oh, and the soundtrack goes hard af
