you can't tell me keeping the original shakespearian dialogue but using a modern setting wasn't a fun as hell choice or that this film isn't visually stunning. romeo as a smoker? guns named after the blades they originally were in the theater? hot as hell drag queen mercutio??? that iconic aquarium scene? they made john leguizamo sexy, for god's sake
but, faults aside, it's clearly a passion project where the crew provided easter eggs for fans, and depicted certain scenes from different angles to try and get around the censorhip while still still trying to convey the same horror. oh, and the soundtrack goes hard af
